NAIROBI, 17th March 2020

To all our stakeholders,

The global spread of COVID-19 is affecting every one of us and we are saddened by its spread. At GrowthAfrica we are people first and in unity with the nationwide and international efforts against the recent developments in the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in Africa, GrowthAfrica has chosen to take precautionary measures to safeguard our entrepreneurs, employees, partners, other stakeholders, and our community by suspending normal direct contact operations as well as activities at our Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi, and Ghana offices. The decision is also in line with Government directives, informed by the ministry of health and other international health bodies.

We regret the inconvenience that the effects towards normal interaction with GrowthAfrica will cause to our entrepreneurs and other stakeholders but taking all precautions to safeguard everyone’s health remains our priority.

All upcoming events

All activities under GrowthAfrica Accelerator, all GrowthAfrica Advisory services, and the GrowHow Masterclasses shall be postponed to a later date which will be communicated to all GrowthAfrica clients, partners and registered participants through respective team members who shall directly reach out with more information. Constant updates around the commencement of set activities will also be shared.

Business support

Visits to businesses by Growth Catalysts shall be halted and instead, support facilitated through phone and video calls. Meeting schedules planned with our entrepreneurs will be maintained virtually until further notice. Growth Catalyst will directly be in touch with entrepreneurs for further details on these set schedules.

Moving to flexible work arrangements

The GrowthAfrica team will from today be working from home. The team will, however, be available online or on-call during normal working hours as we currently seek to intensify virtual support and meetings through audio, video and conference calls where necessary. There is no mistaking the challenge we all face at this period and especially to business owners. We realise that more than ever our support towards your business resilience is needed and we are making this a priority.

We shall follow-up regularly with all businesses and intend to collect data during this period that will help us understand the effects this situation has on your business to better support you in the short and long run.

As we wait for normalcy to return, we urge you all to remain calm and take all personal precautions to stay safe contain the spread of the virus.
