The United States African Development Foundation has given 36 grants of $25,000 each to Washington Fellows to start-up or expand their business or social enterprises.
Our 2012 accelerator graduate, Eric Muthomi, CEO and Founder of Stawi Foods is among the 36 grant recipients – four being from Kenya.
His company, Stawi Foods enters into supply contracts with organized banana farmer groups, processing them into banana flour and then packs it ready for local and international markets.
As GrowthAfrica continues to support more entrepreneurs through our accelerator programs, the value of the alumni network becomes an increasingly large component and Eric Muthomi shares his experience and insights with other entrepreneurs in agribusiness at GrowthAfrica.
We at GrowthAfrica would like to congratulate Eric on this recognition and award.
