The programme is targeting for profit post revenue businesses in Kenya, Uganda, Zambia and Ethiopia that have existed for more than 2 years, for profit, with a full time team and a desire to scale up the business to the next level.
GrowthAfrica has been working with post-revenue ventures and entrepreneurs since 2002. The Scaleup Accelerator programme works with businesses in sectors such as; Agribusiness, Fintech, E-commerce, Health, Education, ICT/Mobile, retail/FMCG and with a total turnover of not less than 100,000USD per year.
We strategically support high-impact, high-growth businesses that innovatively contribute to Africa’s social and economic progress through cohort-based programmes, strategic advice and access to funding. Since inception, GrowthAfrica has worked with over 1,800 local and international businesses, helped them raise USD 42 million and create 24,000 jobs in East Africa.
Definition of business acceleration – A programme that provides an opportunity for growing businesses to access mentorship, investors and other support that help them become stable, scalable and self-sufficient businesses.
The cohorts comprise of 15 ventures per country in each of the four identified geographical locations. It consists of a total of 18-day workshops spread over a total period of 6 months; assisting the businesses work on their growth strategy through business development support, strategic advice by experienced and seasoned members of the team, walking alongside the business’ journey. The programme is also a great avenue for the businesses to connect and benefit from peer-to-peer learning and networking with like-minded entrepreneurs and networks across the 4 countries.
